What I find strange is that these monsters almost certainly were extinct before Job's time whether you're an OEC who believes they died before the creation of man or a YEC who believes they died in the Noahic flood, since Job is an Edomite. Yet, he is somehow supposed to be familiar with them.
It is not a traditional belief of YECs that the dinosaurs died in the Flood. Rather, since God commanded Noah to save all the animals, and dinosaurs were among the animals, they would have been on the Ark (likely babies still in eggs). However, the belief is that because the Flood destroyed their natural habitats, they quickly died out afterwards, along with many other species. But there were remnant survivors well into Job's day.
I recently watched a documentary made by YECs where I think they indicated that dinosaurs were excluded from the kinds taken into the ark, but perhaps I misunderstood them.
Dear Benjamin John, This is just amazing. I read it once. But I need to grab my pipe for an "afternoon read" again this afternoon. You are a gift from God to all of us. Thanks to much for your inspirational writing. Ellis
Do you think that God withholding man's lordship over the great monsters and seldom mentioning them save for their general attributes may be a reference to the extinction of many of them early in man's existence, before he would have been able to face them down with later weaponry?
Excellent work

I would be very surprised if they argued that, but I suppose I can’t speak for every YEC

Yes, I tend to think so.
